Thread Veins or broken red veins are superficial red, purple or blue veins that occur when the vein dilates and becomes larger so they
become visible through the transparency of the skin.
Although they are common they can cause distress to those that have them. They can be hereditary or as a result of external factors such
as extreme temperatures, wind and sun exposure, steroid creams and some auto-immune conditions.
They can also be part of the condition known as Rosacea.
Age spots, brown spots, liver spots and associated with premature aging and exposure to UV rays. Generally they are not a health risk but
often they can create a less youthful and patchy appearance.
To minimise such lesions we can release light into the skin, the applicator is moved and another pulse of light is released until the whole
area is treated. The rapid release of light heats the cells and destroys them, the body then absorbs them leaving little or no trace.
Treatment is suitable for most people but a full consultation and patch test is required. The treatments are mildly uncomfortable but the
treatment is very quick and there is no need for anaesthesia.
After the treatment the area may feel warm for several hours, the area can be red and slightly swollen for up to 48 hours, there can be darkening
or lightening of the area- but this is temporary.
Between 1 and 5 treatments may be necessary and each treatment takes between 15 minutes and 45 minutes.
Laser Hair Removal
If you're not happy with shaving, waxing or tweezing then Laser hair removal may be an option for you!
Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses a powerful laser or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to remove
unwanted hair. This light source heats and destroys hair follicles in the skin which disrupted the growth. Laser hair
removal offers a more permanent reduction of hair, reducing ingrowing hairs, shaving rash, stubble and saving
time and money.
Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair for both men and women from many places, including the face, legs,
chest, back, underarm and bikini line. With each session hair is reduced. We recommend an initial course of 6-12
treatments, spaced 4- 6 weeks apart. Most clients begin to notice a difference after around 3 weeks.
At LaseLux we are proud to provide the award winning Lynton Lumina. This is a medical grade and NHS
approved machine developed by experts at Manchester University and manufactured in the UK. The
Manufacturers have recently been awarded 'Aesthetic equipment of the year' for the second year running. Lynton
devices are considered by many health care professionals to be the most effective, safe and reliable option. The
Lumina has the unique capability to treat darker skin then many of its counterparts.

Frequently asked questions:
How does Laser Tattoo removal work?
The laser produces a high powered beam of light. This light is absorbed by the pigment in the tattoo and breaks
down in to smaller pieces. These tiny particles are then absorbed into the bloodstream and then expelled by your
body's natural immune system. The tattoo gradually fades over several treatments.
Is Laser Tattoo painful?
You may find the treatment mildly uncomfortable, although the majority of peeople tolerate it very well. Most
people describe the feeling as similar to the flicking of an elastic band or a hot pin prick. A skin cooling product
will be used to reduce any discomfort.
How will my skin look after the treatment?
There is often some 'frosting' where the skin will whiten a little, this generally fade very quickly. The area of
treatment may feel tender for up to 48 hours after treatment. We recommend using a skin soothing product after
any treatment.
How many teatments will I need?
This depends on many factors including the age of the tattoo, skin tone and health, age of the tattoo and quality
of ink. Amateur tattoos usually take less time than professional tattoos and so treatment time can vary from 4
sessions upto around 12 sessions. Treatments are ususally around 6-8 weeks apart to allow for healing. Your
body's natural immune system plays a large part in this so try to stay as healthy as possible!
Are there any side effects?
Some blistering, redness and swelling is completely normal.
Very rarely the skin may become lighter or darker, this usually returs to normal after a couple of months.
Scarring is very, very rare.
Before any treatment.
Please ensure your existing tattoo is totally healed (minimum of 8 weeks).
Please ensure you have not used fake tanning products or been in the sun for 4 weeks.
Do not use any harsh skin treatments for 2 weeks prior to treatment and do not resume treatment until the skin
has healed (this includes retinol, tretinoin, benxoyl peroxide, gylcolic/salicylic acid, astringents etc.)
The treatment area must be clean shaven.
NO TREATMENT WILL BE CARRIED OUT WITHOUT A FULL CONSULTATION AND A PATCH TEST.
Post treatment
A cold compress may be used.
Please only wear loose fitting clothing.
Aloe vera gel or vaselie may be applied. Please do not pick any scabs or blisters
Do not expose the area to the sun or tanning beds for a minimum of 4 weeks.

Stenuous physical activities should be avoided for 48 hours.

LOTS OF WATER AND CONSIDER QUITTING SMOKING
